SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Yonhap) -- Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's second-ranked carmaker, saw its sales in Mexico grow for the fourth straight month in October, industry data showed Thursday.

According to the data provided by a local automotive association, Kia Motors sold 1,829 cars in Mexico, up 6.9 percent from a month earlier.

Since entering the Mexican market for the first time in July, Kia Motors has posted on-month sales growth for four straight months.

Kia Motors is currently aiming to join the top 10 players in the Mexican auto market within this year, ramping up sales and marketing efforts.

Over the past three months, the automaker has more than doubled the number of its local dealerships in Mexico to 48, with a plan to increase it further to 65 by 2017.
